Student Resource Scheme (SRS)

PublishingPageContent

East Brisbane State School (EBSS) operates a Student Resource Scheme (SRS) in addition to a reduced booklist. This letter contains important information about the fees and inclusions for the SRS. It is important to note that the SRS is separate to the Booklist for individual student consumables.

What is provided by the Queensland Government?

The Queensland Government supports children's education by funding instruction (teachers), facilities (school grounds, building and internet) and administration (staff to run the school). Funding for schools does not extend to individual student resources such as text books, equipment for personal use and many other items consumed by students in the classroom. The SRS assists both parents and schools in sourcing these items.

The SRS is designed to save parents money through the school's ability to bulk purchase. For this reason, participation in the SRS offers a convenient way for parents to source the items that their child needs for school and ensures that all students have access to the same standard of resources.

The types of resources that will be included are:

  • Printing costs
  • Curriculum consumables such as paints, cardboard, Science materials
  • Text books (Handwriting and Mental Maths); and
  • All online learning platforms (such as Mathletics and Reading Eggs)

A table is provided on the next page of the items included in this year's fee.

Release of Resources

Student Resources will not be distributed to students until the full or first payment has been paid to the school.

SRS Participation, (please read carefully)

  • Parents are required to complete and return the SRS Participation Agreement online via the Qparent App.
  • If you are not satisfied that the SRS fee represents good value for money based on the inclusions listed in the table provided, you may choose not to participate.
  • In choosing not to participate or the form on Qparents is not completed the school will take the view that the parent/carer has chosen to provide all curriculum resources for their child at their own cost, in which case a detailed list of resources will be provided.
A parent's participation or non-participation in the scheme will continue as per their Qparents response for entirety of their child's enrolment at EBSS, or a parent can change their response in subsequent years by completing the change of consent on the Qparent app.

The SRS Participation Fee 2026

The 2026 Fee will be $100.00 per child.

Invoices will be issued in Term 1, 2026 to all students with completed forms, the invoice indicating strictly 30 days for payment.

Any unpaid invoices will be managed according to the department's Debt Management Procedure and may result in the student being excluded from the scheme and/or from participating in non-curricular activities until payment is made (http://ppr.det.qld.gov.au/corp/finance/accounts/Procedure%20Attachments/debt-management/debt-management.pdf External link).

Meeting the cost and payment choices

  • Using The Back to School Boost (B2SB) as SRS offset

Queensland Government (QG) provides a $100 Back to School boost to help parents cover the cost of school essentials for primary school students (Prep to Year 6). Qg initially distributed this credit onto the school account of each eligible primary school student on Friday 6 February. For eligibile students enrolling at other times during the year, QG will allocate a prorated amount.

To apply the credit to the SRS invoice parents/carers must complete the B2SB choice form on Qparents.

  • How to pay if opting out of Back to School SRS offset

Once your invoice arrives the payment can be made in the following ways:

  • Qparents
  • go to the emailed invoice and choose the BPOINT link on the bottom left
  • pay be EFTPOS at the office.
